REPORT NO. 60

LADY MILNE AND TELTSCHER TROPHY TRIAL ARRANGEMENTS

The number of pairs entered for these two trials is identical (eight in each case), and so is the format, so this notice covers both events.

The trials will be held at Crossgates Community Centre, four miles north of Llandrindod.

Play will start at 11.30am on Saturday; 10.30am on Sunday. Please ensure that you arrive in good time to make the draw and to receive the director’s instructions prior to the start of play.

Screens will be in use.

Time penalties will be in accord with international regulations and will be strictly enforced.

Neither smoking (including e-cigarettes) nor the consumption of alcohol is permitted in the playing area.

If any pair intends to employ ‘Brown Sticker’ conventions, this must be communicated to the other players at least seven days in advance of the event, along with suggested defences.

There will be a random draw for pair numbers/starting positions.

The movement will be completely ‘balanced’, with each other pair spending an equal amount of time on the same and on the opposite polarity to every other pair. This will require some pairs to change polarity at the mid point of some matches.

Scoring will be by X-IMPs against the other three tables in play, the total IMPs per board, plus or minus, being divided by 3.  The maximum win per 14 board match will be capped at plus 57 IMPs. There will be no cap on minus IMPs.

The match timetable is as follows. (Note that there will be a thirty minute refreshment break each day.)
